Everything you share in session is confidential. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practice, our privilege is governed by NRS 49.247. We will not disclose your records without your written consent, except in the following mandatory situations:

• Duty to Warn (NRS 629.550): If a client communicates an explicit threat of imminent serious physical harm or death to a clearly identified person, and has the intent and ability to carry it out, we are required by Nevada law to warn the victim and/or law enforcement.

• Abuse Reporting: We are mandated reporters for suspected child abuse (NRS 432B.220), or the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of older or vulnerable persons (NRS 200.5093).

• Future Crime (NRS 49.249): Privilege does not apply if a client communicates the intent to commit a crime.

• Legal Court Orders: If we receive a valid court order from a judge.

Record Retention

Per NRS 629.051, we retain adult health care records for a minimum of 5 years after the last date of service. For minors, records are retained until the client reaches 23 years of age.
